Yeah!!! SB 61 passed in the Senate 30-0! This bill will eliminate the current requirement for Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives to have a collaborative agreement with an MD. It will allow us to have more independent practice, and to our full scope of practice. It should keep medical costs low, and increase patient access to options. Thanks to all of you who contacted your Senators in SD. It should be heard in the House around Feb 7, so hoping it will pass there also.

I chose a homebirth because I wanted my birth to take place in a peaceful environment I was comfortable with, which to me, was my home. Our little William Henry was born a healthy ten pounder. We were so blessed to be able to have a home birth.
