Yesterday I accompanied the south dakota birth matters group to the Capitol to provide lunch for the legislators and to speak to them about the upcoming Bills to give South Dakota families access to Certified Professional Midwives. You can read more about it on sdbirthmatters.org. Changes have been made in the Bill to add educational requirements and is modeled more closely to the Certified Nurse Midwife statutes. There appears to be good support in the House. Will keep you updated.
